Important Information
Documents are requested via the library’s electronic catalog from any automated workstation in the Reading Room.
Items ordered from the document storage are issued at the service desk upon presentation of a library card. Access to dissertations is regulated by the Rules for Using the Dissertation Collection.
When receiving documents, the user must leave their library card with the reading room attendant.
Documents must be returned to the service desk. At that time, users may extend or reserve the documents for future use.
The Reading Room has an open access collection containing frequently used materials available without prior request. It includes:
ü Belarusian books from the last 10 years
ü Belarusian periodicals from the last 5 years
ü Dissertation abstracts from the last 2 years
ü Reference publications (encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries)
ü Newspapers of the current year
Users may take materials from the open access collection independently, without disturbing the shelving order. After use, materials should be left on the designated tables.
All users, in accordance with the Rules of the Reading Room, have access to the library’s electronic and Internet resources for reference, bibliographic, factual, and full-text scientific and educational information.
Consultations on using electronic and Internet resources are provided by the duty attendant. Searching and viewing these resources is free of charge.
Prohibited for users:
ØTransferring a library card to another person or using someone else’s library card.
ØRemoving library documents from the Reading Room.
ØBringing personal printed materials (books, journals, newspapers, study materials, visual documents, music scores, etc.), video equipment, sharp objects into the Reading Room.
Ø Entering the Reading Room in untidy appearance.
Ø Visiting under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or toxic substances.
Ø Entering with animals (except for guide dogs assisting visually impaired users).
ØDamaging documents (tearing or cutting pages, making notes, underlining, tracing illustrations, writing on paper placed over documents, repairing documents independently, etc.).
Ø Taking documents issued to other users without permission.
Ø Consuming food or colored drinks in the Reading Room.
Ø Using mobile phones, cameras, or other devices to photograph or film library documents or computer screens.
ØEntering in outerwear or bringing bags larger than 20×20 cm; removing documents or using mobile phones in the Reading Room.
Ø Unauthorized access to servers and network equipment.
ØInstalling or reconfiguring software.
Ø Damaging computer hardware or software.
