A fruitful cooperation between the Republican Scientific Medical Library and the National Library of Belarus has been enjoyed for many years now.
The basis of all libraries’ activity is stocks formed to the highest standard, that is why it is the document exchange with which the two institutions have started their cooperation in the Year of Quality.
The representatives of the National library of Belarus headed by Viktar Vikientsjevich Pshybytka, the deputy director-general, visited our library on February 20th. As part of the intrarepublcan document exchange, they transferred more than 340 scientific literature items including 37 vintage editions on various fields of medicine in German, English and French to our stocks. The oldest of them dates back to 1876 and it gives an account of applied medicine of that time.
The head of the RSML Vieranika Valierjewna Shutava thanked the guests for giving our library such valuable gifts. She also assured that the literature transferred would prove useful to our readers, and the vintage editions would enrich our stock and be of great use to all those who study the history of the development of world medicine.
